    Description

    Numista ranks the rarity of this token at a 56.
    This 86 year old token is in excellent condition. The token had been in a protective sheath for 85 years which had begun to deteriorate. I removed the token and have placed it in a more modern protective coin case.
    The obverse of the token features the coat of arms of New Mexico which depicts a Mexican Eagle grasping a serpent in its beak along with a cactus in its talons. Both are shielded by the outspread wings of an American Eagle. The American Eagle is grasping arrows in its talons and resting on a scroll with the motto: "Crescit Eundo which translates into the expression "It goes as it grows".
    The reverse of the token contains the following;
    EMERGENCY SCHOOL TAX ON PURCHASE OF TWENTY-FIVE CENTS
    TAX TOKEN
    5
    FIVE MILLS
    The token will ship in a padded protective envelope.
