Vintage Brownie with a Kitten Brooch, ca. 1950s

Description

This charming little pin depicts a Brownie scout holding a kitten. The Brownies are a scouting organization for girls, typically aged 7 to 10, before they would become Girl Scouts. This particular brooch is made of a celluloid-like molded plastic, accented with paint. It dates to around the 1950s. Worthpoint features a similar pin that appeared in Girl Scout and Brownie catalogs from 1954-58. The pin measures 5/8" x 2".
Condition is excellent with no issues to note. The paint is in fantastic shape and the simple molded c-type clasp functions perfectly. This would be a unique and delightful gift for the collector, scout leader, or cat lover in your life.
